Clothes style and elegance result from a subtle match of the parts it is made of: shirt, trousers, jacket, tie, but also belt, shoes, cufflinks, watch etc.

Complementary colours
Your cufflinks colour and your shirt colour are opposite to each other on the colour circle.Exemple:
Colour repeat
Your cufflinks colour is the same as the colour of another accessory: tie, belt and shoes (your belt must be the same colour as your shoes).
Material
Your cufflinks material must match with other accessories: watch and other jewels, as well as your belt buckle. All those parts should be in the same material (if not, they should at least be the same tone, for instance gold and gold-plated steel or silver, aluminium and silver-plated steel). However, you can avoid taking wedding rings which size is usually small into account.
Thus, if you wear a gold watch, you should be sure to wear gold-plated cufflinks.
